Absolutely. Our manufacturing partners are located in Indiana and Missouri, where the kits are produced and packaged. Why did you start Barndo Kit Co? How long have you been in business?

We started in 2024, originally helping folks with barns and horse barns. By 2025, we saw a bigger need — people wanted to build their own homes, but the process was complicated, confusing, and expensive. So we shifted our focus fully to barndominiums. Barndo Kit Co was built to make homebuilding doable for people who aren’t general contractors — so you don’t have to figure out how many 2x6s you need or juggle 200 line items and 10 different vendors just to get your materials. We handle all that so you can focus on building your dream home.

Who designs your plans?

All of our floor plans are designed in-house by our own team of experienced architects and designers. When a customer needs an engineer-stamped plan, we coordinate with a licensed third-party engineering firm to make sure everything meets local code and build requirements.

Payment & Security

What kind of protection do I have when I pay?

When you buy a plan set, we use Shopify’s secure payment system, which accepts all major cards and trusted payment methods. For complete kits, we provide a written agreement that details exactly what’s included. We keep you updated on progress and time estimates along the way, so there are no surprises or missing details.

What happens after I pay?

Once payment and your signed agreement (if applicable) are complete, we begin your custom design work or finalize your selected plan. If you only ordered a plan, the plan will be sent to you once completed. If you move forward to buying a materials kit, we will begin manufacturing of the kit. We will keep you updated throughout on the timeline with estimated delivery dates.

What if there’s a problem with my order — like missing or damaged materials?

If something arrives wrong or damaged, we make it right. We handle these situations case-by-case, but if indicated, we offer replacement materials quickly. We don’t leave customers hanging — that’s how trust is lost, and we’re here for the long haul.

Are your materials actually good quality, or are they cheap imports like some other companies use?

We don’t cut corners. Every kit uses high-grade, long-lasting materials that meet or exceed residential building standards. We’ve seen what happens when people buy bargain kits — warped lumber, mismatched siding, and costly rebuilds. That’s not what we sell. You get exactly what’s quoted, never cheaper substitutes. Yes. Our plans follow standard residential building practices and can be engineer-stamped for your state if required. Local builders have already used our plan sets as their base drawings with no issues.

Do you offer any discounts or promotions?

We offer a standing veterans discount with a valid military ID, and we also credit the cost of your plan set toward your kit purchase if you buy both through us. That way, your planning work goes straight toward your build budget.

Do you ship to my state?

Yes. We ship to all 48 continental U.S. states. No matter where you’re building, we’ll coordinate delivery directly to your build site.

How long does it take to get my barndo materials kit once I order?

Typical lead time is 8–12 weeks after your final design approval and payment, depending on the size and materials you choose. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way so you always know where your project stands.

Who handles the shipping logistics?

We take care of all shipping and delivery arrangements for you. It’s included in your quoted price — no hidden freight costs or surprise fees later.
